I'm a Music Director!

It looks like God has worked out the details in our lives once again. Yesterday I finished my full-time employment at Evola Music. Two days ago I had a meeting with First Baptist Church of Howell, MI to interview with the church board.

The trip to Howell usually takes about 45 minutes, so we left at 6:00 for the 7:00 meeting. That should have given us plenty of time...right? Well, we got stuck in a BIG traffic jam and it took us almost 90 minutes to arrive at the church. We were just hoping that the committee hadn't left already. I walk into the sanctuary, apologize for my tardiness, and try to explain what happened on the highway. Here is their response; "You're not late...the committee was meeting at 7:00 and the interview is at 7:30". There ya go! God turned our negative situation into a positive one. If I had thought the meeting would be at 7:30 we would have left at 6:30 and arrived late.

Now for the interview details: I played music for the church (not very well...in my opinion), answered a handful of questions, and waited for them to talk a bit. A few minutes later they came in and offered me the job! So, I am going to be teaching K-8 music (20 hrs per week) and directing a church music program (10-20 hrs per week). These two jobs will actually pay a little more than I made last year in musical sales. Why do we ever doubt the Lord's faithfulness? He is more than willing to provide for His children.

hey chuck,
excellent, so happy to hear that you were able to offer your talents to that church. Yes the LOrd is faithfull. Anyway how is your daughter doing?
From Psalm 28 Blessed be the Lord, because He has heard the voice of my supplication! The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him.
I read this portion today and thought it to be most reassuring.

Charles! Brother Paul here! We miss you guys! Wow, Pastor Rick preached a fantastic sermon today about anxiety. One of his points was that sometimes we are so focused on the trials of life that we forget to step back to the big picture and shout, "God's in control!" But on the other hand, some of us are often caught shouting, "sovereign Lord!" up on the roof, while forgetting to be compassionate to those going through real trials. MAN, it was revolutionary for Jen and I. Went to the Nieto's small group and had a great time of discussion too! Anyway, just thought you'd be encouraged by hearing that. Praise the Lord for his powerful Word! "When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul" - Ps 94:19
(BTW-your blog is old, what's the latest? :))
